Weddings. 

I LOVE THEM. 

Not only do you get to celebrate two people devoting their lives to one another, but it also gives you a reason to eat too much, drink lots of lovely wine, and dance your pants off.

A couple of weeks ago I attended the wedding of one of my best girl friends here in Italy.  It was truly a wonderful day!  

Now, for those of you have no idea how Italian weddings/baptisms/anniversaries work...it is basically an eating contest and a competition of how long you can sit still and be served course after course of food....

A typical wedding would include an appetizer buffet with pre-dinner drinks, then a first course of pasta or risotto (or BOTH), then second course of meat, veggies, potatoes etc, and then a dessert buffet.  

Wedding cake.  Wine. Sparkling wine. Coffee. Biscotti.  

I could continue...

 The attention to the food at these happy occasions is unmatched in any part of the world I have ever been.  

It is a wonderful thing.

So in the spirit of celebrating those wonderful occasions of marriages Italian and otherwise, I'd like to share some pics of the various weddings I have attended over the years and all the amazing things that weddings have to offer...

Sigh.  

Love it all.

Thank goodness I have two more siblings yet to marry...so much more celebrating to do!!

So on that note...

It's coming up...happy FOURTH anniversary to my amazing hubs...

 

Well, the fourth anniversary of the first wedding anyway...   ; )
